ON A PERSONAL NOTE:
Hi! My name is Sailys Concepcion. I am a first-generation Cuban immigrant who moved to the U.S. in the second grade. Like many, I’ve experienced the challenges that come with major life transitions, cultural expectations, and the stigmas that often surround mental health—especially within our communities. As a single mother, I understand firsthand the resilience it takes to navigate life’s challenges while seeking balance and healing.

These personal experiences have given me a deeper sense of compassion and connection with my clients. I believe that lived experience, combined with professional expertise, allows me to offer a unique perspective—one that is rooted in understanding, empathy, and advocacy. I am passionate about continuously educating myself to better support and advocate for my clients, particularly those from minority and marginalized communities.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a multi-state licensed clinician, practicing for 9 years. I am bilingual; fluent in Spanish. I have worked with, and feel comfortable working with those individuals who are living different lifestyles and come from different cultures and backgrounds.

AREAS OF STRENGTH
:
I specialize in helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, whether they are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, or the stress of major life transitions. I am also passionate about supporting those in the perinatal, pregnancy and postpartum stages. (I completed trainings from Postpartum Support International (PSI) on Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care as well as Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy. These trainings allow me to confidently provide a safe space to support those in the perinatal population.)

THERAPY APPROACH:
I believe that the foundation of effective therapy lies in a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach focuses on creating a safe, judgment-free space where you can be your authentic self. I strive to be real, relatable, and easy to talk to, offering support that is genuine and compassionate. Together, we’ll navigate your challenges at a pace that feels right for you, working toward clarity, healing, and personal growth

RISKS AND BENEFITS OF COUNSELING:
It is important for you to understand that with change, comes some risks and benefits. The risks may show up within relationships with family first and possibly friends and other relationships. When you begin to make changes within yourself, the dynamics of how you choose to be with others will change. This may cause some disturbance with others. Other risks include you feeling worse before you begin to feel better about your treatment issues. The benefits with change are growth, a willingness to try something different that works better in one's life, and accomplishing the goals set on the treatment plan.
